Tedy Bruschi reacts to Lane Johnson's jab at Patriots

Still, that didn't stop the Eagles offensive tackle from going on Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take and dub New England a "fear-based organization" that no one genuinely likes to play for. Naturally, those comments received some push back from folks including current Patriots linebacker Marquis Flowers. But it was an old Pats legend that really put Johnson to bed with his comments.
Yup, Bruschi to the rescue.
“Lane Johnson, I don’t know what he’s talking about," the former Patriots linebacker said on ESPN's First Take on Monday. "I had a lot of fun. There were so many times that we would speak out in meetings. The entire team meeting would erupt in laughter. We were playing music on the team plane. We had so much fun in the ones that I was there. I cannot understand what he’s saying there.”
Bruschi then threw out a zinger of all zingers when the host tried to depict Bill Belichick as someone who doesn't appear to be as fun to play for as the Doug Pederson or Pete Carroll's of the NFL world.
“If you want a relationship and you want to double-date with your coach, I mean go play with those guys," Bruschi said. "Go ahead. If you want to learn how to win games and consistently win games throughout your career, you play for Bill Belichick."
Bruschi then proceeded to give Johnson some sage advice: Enjoy the championship. There's no need to look in the rearview mirror at the Patriots.
“Here’s the problem: The game is over. We're going over a week now and he’s still talking about the team he beat. Why are you bringing up the Patriots when all you should be talking about is the celebration of your championship, the celebration of everything you did?" Bruschi said. "Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles; you are world champions, but now we’re talking about the Patriots. And I'm here because I'm a Patriot and I'm talking to you about how we did have fun because he's talking about this.
“This is the first time you’ve won one, and this is a sign when people just don’t know how to regularly win football games. You talk about the other team and talk about who you beat, you're bringing up other things. What are you talking about? Just celebrate your teammates.
“Let me teach you how to celebrate a world championship. Because when you win back-to-back championships, from a guy that's failed trying to do it and also from a guy that's succeeded trying to do it, you need more than planned celebrations, dog masks and trick plays. He will learn that this year when you try to repeat, but you are bringing up the New England Patriots in a time you shouldn’t be.”
